Here is one heavyweight GO-GO band from outside of Washington D.C. GroovePlanet was established in Tokyo Japan in 2002 and its formed by talented, experienced Japanese professional musicians. Since '02 GP has constantly performed around the Tokyo area.

Founder, leader and drummer of the band Hideyuki "funk4unity" Sato is referred to as "The beast from far-east". When you see him playing, you'll see what it mean!. Lyn lynn is the only sister in the band and she is a major recording solo artist in Japan. The other musicians are : Tsuyoshi "Mr.39th street" Murayama - Vocal and rhythm guitar. Ryoma Mori from Music Institute in Los Angeles - Fat-back Bass. Bunta "Baby-Daddy" Sugai - flaming 'n screaming - lead guitar, Masa Ishikawa - Keyboards, Dencrow Hoshino - Tenor Sax. Shiba-ken - Baritone Sax. Yokoyama - Trumpet. Tee Yano - Percussions. Last but not least, is Shin Tanabe - Congas who also plays for thousands of people in Tokyo on a daily basis. Since their first Live in Roppongi Tokyo, GP keeps knocking audiences out with their heavy steady rhythm. GroovePlanet will be coming to U.S in 2006.
